Turkey Day

Elder Coletti's Letter 11/28/2016:

Hello!  This week was great.  Elder Lin and I are having so much fun serving the people of Taoyuan.  We had some service opportunities this week.  We helped people paint their company building, and also sang to the elderly!  That was great fun;)  Taoyuan also had a couple of baptism!  It was not in our area, but the Taoyuan 1 Elders.  We attended the service and it was wonderful.  A Member Family did a musical performance, and it was incredible. There was so much passion and love behind the musical number.  I was really moved.  I  felt the Spirit whispering to me that this church is true. Regardless of who or where we are, the gospel is exactly what everyone needs in their lives.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  The members took care of the missionaries and bought us a Turkey from Costco!  That was really tasty;)  Elder Lin ate the turkey's HEAD..... hahahaha!!!  The Taiwanese eat everything!  I love it:)

Christmas time is coming!   It is the perfect time to serve people!  You can shovel someone's sidewalk or say something nice to someone. The possibilities are endless.  Remember this: Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can makeup the difference of our weaknesses, and become a complete person.  Christ makes up the difference.  He is the difference.  Jesus is the reason for season!  Christ is the reason we have Christmas. How do we make use of his Atonement?  We must be righteous, good people.  We must follow His commandments.  We must love our brother and sisters.  Choose to serve this Christmas Season.

Love you,
Elder Coletti

Transferred

Elder Coletti's Letter 11/20/16
Big changes!  I got transferred!  I am now going to my 6th area.  I am in TaoYuan!  I was in TaoYuan before, but not in the same area.  Before I was in TaoYuan 4, now I'm in TaoYuan 3.  TaoYuan is the Utah of Taiwan because it has SO many members.  They are super active too and so much fun to watch.  They all read Preach My Gospel and are learning how to share the gospel.  My new companion is Elder Lin.  He is Taiwanese!  It is fun to be with him.  He will finish his mission at the same time as me.  He has so much love.  He gives out compliments like they are candy!  I am excited to learn how to love the people, and connect with them more.  We also speak Chinese all the time!

Those are the big changes.  Love you all!  Talk to you next week!;)

Ray was baptized!

Elder Coletti's Letter 11/13/2016:

Hello!  This week was a lot of fun!  Elder Moss and I had a lot going on in the area this week! We were biking to appointments at the speed of light. We were getting into a taxi so that we could make it to our appointment in time.  We were leaving our bikes in the process, and having to ask a member to drive us to pick them up the next day.  We had members feeding us food.  We had people learning about Jesus Christ.  We had  a little bit of everything going on here this week and I loved it;)

Something really special happened this week.  My best friend Ray was baptized!  Gosh, I love this kid!  He is hilarious! When I was in DanShui (My last area about 6 months ago), he came to English class with one of our Members named Jack. When he came to English class, I thought he was really cool.  He lived outside of my area, so I didn't think much of it at the time.  He came to class the next week and I thought he was really funny.  I thought the gospel could help him, but I would have to just give him to the Elders in that area.  He came to class the third time and I thought that I need to get him in contact with the other Elders! I passed him over to them  and he started his journey!  He needed some time and he initially didn't have much interest in the church.  He really just wanted some white friends!  Eventually that initial interest in English transformed into an interest in Christ, and Ray was willing to get baptized.

A big thing that I learned from this experience is that it doesn't matter where people come from or where they live, we can still have an influence in their lives.  We shouldn't waste the opportunities that God gives us. God, through Jack, put Ray into contact with the church.  If I had wasted the opportunity to help Ray get in contact with the missionaries in his area, he may have never accepted baptism.  I'm just glad that God gave me 3 chances!  We shouldn't waste chances to help someone.  Everyone deserves a chance to have their lives changed.  Everyone.

Transfers are this week.  It is likely that I will be leaving this area, but who knows!  I am so glad to have been given the opportunity to train Elder Moss.  He is a rockstar.  He's already an incredible missionary.  We have had so much fun this past two transfers and made so many wonderful memories:)   Stay tuned next week!

Smile!

Elder Coletti's Letter 11/6/2016:

I've been busy, busy! That sums up this week in a couple of words;) Elder Moss and I saw a lot of success this week meeting with our investigators and we saw a lot of progression with some of them as well!  We had  two new investigators come to church this week.  This was HUGE because before they weren't making time for church. We met with them a couple of times this week, and they made time to come to church! I'm really excited!

This week was awesome. I love missionary work. I cannot believe how much I have grown on my mission. I love the people of Taiwan. I have met so many incredible individuals that I plan on staying in contact with for the rest of my life! I love serving others. Whether it's other missionaries, members or random people on the streets, I love serving and helping others have happiness. That's the biggest thing I have learned on my mission. I have learned that serving others and giving them smiles will put a smile on your own face. I love it.

Smile with all the effort you can muster.  People will appreciate it.  God will definitely be happy.  Smiling is showing our appreciation to God.  When we frown, we are taking for granted the blessings that God has given us.  Just be happy!  Ya!!!!:))))))))))

Donuts always make me happy.....;)
